Craton Promotions Debuts New Ford Performance Line At Daytona
The Team IMSA crew was already hyped up because of our incredible start to the 2024 season at the Roar Before the 24 the prior week. We had a sense that the Rolex 24 was going to be a huge success after seeing how many people were at the Roar. So many fans were coming into the Team IMSA store at the entrance to the Fan Zone and telling me that they had to park in secondary parking lots because their normal parking area was already full.
Our pre-race team in the Atlanta office of Craton Promotions had done a good job with our new 2024 merchandise, which included the new Ford Performance line that we began offering with this new season. You could tell just how good they did by the quick rate the new merch flew off the shelves and into the fans hands.
We are grateful for the big start to the 2024 racing season, and sure Brad Pitt being on location to film a new racing movie probably helped fill the racetrack, but we got the vibe right away that the 2024 IMSA season was going to be a well-attended one. We shall see, and time will tell, but we are super excited with this record-breaking start.
At the end of the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, Thomas and Charles were able to get us our new thick red IMSA souvenir cups and we all went out to the front of the store by the fan zone and gave the entire first run away to fans leaving the race. What a great ending to a great week for IMSA, and for the At the Events with Craton Promotions crew.
The 2024 24 Hours of Daytona was the first of 11 races in the 2024 IMSA SportsCar Championship and the first of five rounds in the 2024 Michelin Endurance Cup.
The 62nd running of the 24 Hours of Daytona, also known as the Rolex 24 at Daytona, took place on January 27–28, 2024 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. The race was shortened by 1 minute and 35.277 seconds due to an officiating error that caused the white flag to be displayed with less than three minutes remaining. The race-leading No. 7 Porsche, driven by Felipe Nasr, Matt Campbell, Dane Cameron, and Josef Newgarden, received the checkered flag and won the race. This was the first overall win for all four drivers.
“Based on Article 49 of the 2024 IMSA Sporting Regulations and Standard Supplementary Regulations, should the checkered flag be inadvertently or otherwise displayed before the leading car completes the scheduled number of laps or before the prescribed time has been completed, the race is nevertheless deemed ended when the flag is displayed,” the statement concluded.
Thank You to everyone that came through the Team IMSA stores, we do enjoy the business of a good crowd and you really made a big splash to open this season.
